Workshop Description
One of the most dynamic and rewarding subjects for me to paint outdoors are seascapes. Everything from crashing waves and rocks to the jewel of the sea. With it comes it’s unique complexities for painters of all mediums and in this workshop I will show you some of the most important fundamentals that I have learned when it comes to composition, great shape variety and design, form sculpting, lighting design, texture and color. All levels and mediums are welcome but I will be teaching this class in gouache.
Workshop Outline
Week 1 -
Will start out with an introduction to composition design and color with an emphasis on shape design and rocks. The day will start with a demo and finish up with students painting along.
Week 2 -
Will start with an in class critique of the last class session’s works followed by the next demo on waves. Students to paint along til the end of class.
Week 3 -
Will start out with another in class critique of student’s work from the last session's class followed by a final demo on water and color. Students to paint along til the end of class and share their efforts.
